The “W” - Your Place for Recreation
The Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center ("W") is your family’s place for recreation and wellness. The facility features an indoor pool area with six lanes for laps, a circular endless pool, water slide, large whirlpool, sauna and locker rooms. The complex also includes aerobic and exercise rooms with multiple opportunities for fitness classes; seven playing courts used for basketball, tennis and other sports; racquetball courts; a 200-meter indoor track; jogging track; exercise equipment and climbing wall.
Also at the “W” you will find the “Zesty Orange”. This popular gathering space offers a snack bar, lounge and common area with elevated views of much of the facility.
The center of the “W” complex is the competition arena used by the Wartburg athletic teams. Membership to the “W” includes admission to many Wartburg athletic events throughout the academic calendar year.
At 200,000 square-foot, the “W” is one of the largest NCAA Division III facilities of its kind in the nation and provides Waverly residents with access to one of the finest community sports and wellness centers in Iowa.
Indoor Pool
The indoor pool area features six lanes for laps, a circular endless pool, a water slide, a large whirlpool, sauna and locker rooms.
Climbing Wall
The 30-foot tall climbing wall can hold up to six climbers at one time with no height or weight restrictions. Harnesses, ropes, and other necessary equipment are provided along with certified staff. The climbing wall is open weekday evenings and weekend afternoons.
Fitness Center
The “W” offers a wide variety of fitness equipment for community use.
Walston-Hoover Stadium
The Walston-Hoover Stadium is home to Wartburg football.
Levick Arena
The Levick Arena seats nearly 1,800 fans for basketball, volleyball, and wrestling.
