A Safe Community
“We have a safe community where I feel really good about my children playing outside.” – Tiffany Pins, Waverly Mom and College Soccer Coach
We hear it time and again when people talk about why they chose Waverly as the place they call home. The low crime rate. The public safety organizations that are dedicated to serving the citizens of Waverly. The police department devoted to building trusting relationships within the community through events like National Night Out and Citizens Police Academy. The firefighters dedicated to protecting our community, but also spending time in classrooms to teach our children about fire safety and prevention. The EMS ambulance service that is there when an emergency arises and we need their services at any time of day or night.
The people who protect our community are more than just professionals. They are us. They live and raise their families in our community, too. So it is more than just a job to them. It is a passion. We look out for each other in this community, and we have built a culture of safety that makes people feel good about living, working, and raising their families here.
National Night Out
National Night Out is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and the Waverly Police Department. This popular family event works to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships by inviting families to participate in an evening of family fun with our police officers.
