Waverly is Home to Wartburg College
Wartburg College is a four-year liberal arts college offering more than 50 majors including engineering, public health, actuarial science, exercise science, business administration, religion and philosophy, criminology, music therapy, and biology, all rooted in a liberal arts tradition.
The college offers more than 15 music ensembles, open to all majors, including the internationally acclaimed Wartburg Choir, Castle Singers and Concert Band.
Wartburg athletics offer a variety of opportunities for the public to become avid fans watching top-notch teams in action. The 22 athletic teams have a combined 25 national championships, including 14 in wrestling, and more than 100 conference titles.
Wartburg performing arts centers bring arts and culture to the community, through a variety of first class musical and dramatic productions that are open for the public to enjoy.
Wartburg College is dedicated to challenging and nurturing students for lives of leadership and service as a spirited expression of their faith and learning. Arts & Culture
Waverly enjoys a thriving arts community. Public art can be found throughout the community’s parks, from sculptures designed by local artists to the Shades of Rhythm Amphitheater which serves as a music venue as well as a public art feature. Local and regional artists are celebrated during the annual Art Walk event. Waverly proudly supports the Wartburg Community Symphony as well as the Waverly Municipal Band.
