A Place for Everyone to Play

Waverly prides itself as being a community with fantastic outdoor spaces and stunning views. The Park structure within the community was planned to provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy being outside.

If it is a restful river view you are after, a visit to Kohlmann, South Riverside, Three Rivers, Pelikan, or Brookwood Parks will not disappoint. These parks are nestled among various bends of the river, each offering a unique river view experience.

Taking a leisurely walk, jog or bike ride? Nearly every park is interconnected via sidewalks or bike paths across all of Waverly.

From one neighborhood to another families can enjoy playing together on modern and safe playground equipment. From Rolling Hills to First Home, Eastgate to Kohlmann, these are just a few of the many fantastic neighborhood parks and opportunities to bring residents together to continue to make Waverly a great place to call home.

And Waverly knows that pets need a place to play, too! With that in mind, the City of Waverly Leisure Services department campaigned for and was awarded funds to develop a community Pet Safe Off Leash Dog Park. This 5-acre area is located on 8th Street SE, just South of the soccer complex. The park is a wonderful place for dogs of all sizes to stretch out and run. There are separately fenced large and small dog areas and paved walking paths throughout with covered seating areas along the path. A special dog park committee plans fun events and activities just for the dogs throughout the year. This is an amenity that is well loved by people and pets alike.
