Interview with Austin

Austin works for SAP, an international company based in Seattle. Austin is like a majority of the
employees that work for SAP in that he works remotely from his home in Waverly. Here's what he
has to say about living in Waverly.

"Waverly was a great place to come home to when we decided to return to Iowa ten years ago and
we have never regretted that decision. I really appreciate the fact that Waverly is a “gigabyte”
city with high speed fiber Internet connections throughout the entire community. The speeds are
amazing and the service is very reliable which is important in my business.

Waverly is a safe community with great schools for our two children and a low cost of living. It
is large enough to have the amenities we want, and we avoid the hassles of a larger city. I travel
some for my work, but I always get to come home to Waverly. We could live anywhere with my
job, but we chose to be in Waverly.

We love the volunteer opportunities available in Waverly through its strong non-profit network.
We love the activities that are available at Wartburg, especially the “W” recreation center.
We enjoy community events such as concerts in Kohlmann Park along the river in downtown,
especially since our 7 th grader participates in the Waverly Municipal Band that performs there."
